This course offers an analysis of the link between political realism, elitism and democracy

Educational goals and expected learning outcomes:
LEARNING OUTCOMES
This Course’ aims to offer to the students the skills and knowledge to analyze tools and techniques of political communication.
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
The course will offer to the students the skills and tools for a knowledge of the link beetween elitism and democracy
The students, at the end of the course , will better understand the contemporary democracies
Methods and criteria for verifying the learning:
Oral exam
The student, during a examination interview, will show the knowledge of the course focal issues.
he oral exam will be assessed according to criteria of: i) competence in content, synthesis and analysis of themes and concepts relating to history of political thought; ii) ability to read, comment and analyze the texts analyzed in class; iii) ability to use a technical language appropriate to the subject.
The marks will be expressed according to this orientation scheme:
EXCELLENT (28-30): excellent ability to present and critical analysis of the texts of the texts addressed in class; excellent orientation skills in the topics addressed in class; excellent ability to use the specialized terminology of the discipline.
DISCREET (24-27): fair knowledge of the subject and of the texts dealt with in class; good synthesis and analysis skills; good ability to express and use the specialized terminology of the discipline.
SUFFICIENT (18-23): minimal knowledge of the exam material; limited capacity for synthesis and analysis; poor ability to use the specialized terminology of the discipline
NEGATIVE (exam not passed): Lack of knowledge of the exam material and / or serious errors in understanding and displaying the contents; inability to summarize the main arguments; lack of knowledge of the specialized terminology of the discipline.
Attendance modalities:
Frontal lesson and seminars. Frequence requires at least 70% of attendence in class
